focus on innovative protocols for the

with investigators in basic science laboratories
to develop new chemotherapeutic agents
for the treatment of brain tumors.

and he is now a member of the NCI-C Program
Project Grant Review Parent Committee.

pediatrics at Northwestern University. Dr.
Goldman earned his medical degree at Loyola

Dr. Gururangan
is a pediatric neuro-oncologist responsible
for designing and providing care to children
with brain and spinal cord tumors. Dr. "Sri"
Gururangan focuses exclusively on the clinical
care of children with brain tumors. Over the
last 10 years, he has had extensive experience
in the treatment of children with cancers, particularly
brain tumors, in several premier institutions
in the United States, England, Ireland, and
most recently at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center in New York. He designs clinical protocols,
which utilize the newest advances in the treatment
of children with these tumors.

of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Jakacki
has two publications including: "Treatment
strategies for high-risk medulloblastomas and
supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumors."
and "A pilot study of pre-irradiation chemotherapy
and low-dose craniospinal irradiation in young
children with medulloblastoma." |

Dr. Kieran received his PhD in 1984 from the University
of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and his MD in 1986
from the University of Calgary. He completed postgraduate
training in molecular biology at the Pasteur Institute
in Paris. After a pediatric residency in Montreal,
he received postdoctoral education at Children's
Hospital Boston. In 1997, he became director of
Pediatric Medical Neuro-Oncology at DFCI. He also
works on angiogenesis in the laboratory of Dr.
Judah Folkman. |
