After graduating from Miami University, Valerie began her career teaching 3rd and 4th grades in Cincinnati and Maumee. She later earned her Master's Degree in Counseling and served as a school counselor in Noblesville, IN. Valerie cherished the years she spent at home with her two daughters, Caroline and Allie, before returning to education as a school counselor in Firelands Schools, where she dedicated 17 years to supporting students and the school community.
She and her husband, Steven, now reside in Sandusky. Valerie is honored to be part of the Prayers From Maria team, where she focuses on building partnerships with schools, homeschool groups, and universities to advance the foundation's mission of fueling brain cancer research.
